What is a semi-system?
Semi-system refers to the secondary circuit system + main circuit valve of the open-cycle liquid rocket engine. The secondary circuit system mainly includes the ignition system, gas generator, turbo pump, secondary control valve, relief valve, solenoid valve, and one-way valve. The main circuit valve mainly includes the main valve and throttling components. The semi-system is the most complex and important part of the open-cycle liquid rocket engine. It is responsible for important missions such as energy conversion, propellant delivery, and thrust adjustment. Whether the engine can be started and shut down smoothly depends on whether the components in the semi-system can be matched well.

What is the semi-system test?
The semi-system test mainly assesses the rationality and working compatibility of the gas generator and turbo pump, the core component of the liquid rocket engine, the start-up and shutdown characteristics of the engine, and obtains the necessary parameters for the full-system work. After the semi-system test is completed, the distance between the engine and the turbopump is full. The systematic "big test" is only one step away.

The Longyun engine is an 80-ton liquid oxygen methane engine. It is the second-generation liquid oxygen methane engine product developed by Kyushu Yunjian. It is also the first domestic high-thrust engine with no pyrotechnic device. The use conditions are friendly. This engine has better performance. With high thrust-to-weight ratio, it can achieve a configuration layout of five units with a diameter of 3.35m, with a 30%-110% deep thrust adjustment capability, and can achieve multiple starts. It is suitable for the retrievable ground-level or second-level of medium and large rockets.
