In June 2019, the gas generator of the Kyushu Yunjian "Longyun" high-thrust liquid oxygen methane engine completed the hot test run. This test marked that the core components of the Kyushu Yunjian high-thrust liquid oxygen methane engine entered the engineering test verification stage.

Kyushu Yunjian adheres to the technical development concept of "developing one type and pre-researching one type". While the "Lingyun" 10-ton thrust engine has entered the complete machine test stage, it has carried out pre-research on the 80-ton high-thrust engine "Longyun" the work. The "Longyun" engine project was established in February 2019. After multiple rounds of rapid iterations of rocket ballistics and engine performance parameters, the engine design indicators were determined. Then the development team fully absorbed the development process of the "Lingyun" engine based on the design requirements. The valuable experience and superior technology of the company have carried out the design work of the key core components of the "Longyun" high-thrust liquid oxygen methane engine. As the pioneer of the "Longyun" engine, the gas generator completed the engineering design, product manufacturing, and test assessment in only three months, and once again demonstrated the Kyushu speed in the development of the high-thrust liquid oxygen methane engine.

It is worth noting that the gas generator used in this test adopts the torch-type electric ignition system independently developed by Kyushu Yunjian and has been successfully applied to the "Lingyun" engine. The test shows that the system has good matching and sufficient ignition margin. "The technical feature of the Lingyun engine is the flare-type electric ignition combined with the deep variable thrust adjustment technology, making the "Lingyun" engine a truly applicable rocket recovery and reuse engine. The same is true for the "Longyun" high-thrust engine. , The design team gave the "Longyun" engine gas generator the genes that can adapt to electric ignition and deep push.
The success of this test has realized the inheritance and development of core technology from the "Lingyun" engine to the "Longyun" engine, marking that Kyushu Yunjian has taken another step on the road of modularization, generalization and serialization of rocket engine products. A solid step, the successful transfer of core key technologies from "Lingyun" engines to "Longyun" engines has greatly shortened the development cycle and lowered development costs.

In the second half of the year, the friends of Kyushu Yunjian will conduct a test run of the "Lingyun" engine. After the test run of the whole machine, the "Lingyun" engine will enter the reliability test and assessment stage. The 80-ton “Longyun” liquid oxygen methane engine with greater thrust will also undergo other component test assessments and complete machine trials in the second half of the year. The reusable and recovery technology verification rocket platform "Lingxiao" has completed its program demonstration and is currently undergoing detailed engineering design and optimization.
