Recently, the Longyun 80-ton liquid oxygen-methane engine developed by Jiuzhou Yunjian successfully completed its full-engine hot-fire test evaluation at the company's independently constructed engine test facility, marking a complete success for the test campaign.

The Longyun engine possesses three key features:
I. Equipped with the capabilities of multiple ignitions and deep thrust modulation, these two features form the critical foundation enabling rockets to be recovered and reused.
II. The engine envelope can accommodate the layout of five engines for a 3.35-meter-diameter rocket, facilitating vertical recovery of the launch vehicle through significant throttling of the central engine.
III. China's first large-thrust liquid rocket engine featuring a non-pyrotechnic ignition system, offering user-friendly operating conditions and convenient maintenance.
Subsequent tests will be conducted on the Longyun engine, including multiple start-ups, thrust adjustments, and reliability assessments, to verify its capability for recovery and reuse.
